As a kid, I loved packing snow. Snow that you could easily make a snowman, snow-fort, and snowballs with.
Not surprising that we've got packing snow out there on December Fifth, what is notable is the reversal of my opinion of it.
It's heavy, and it sticks to shovels, making them more difficult to work with. You've got to constantly clean off the clingy slush.
These days I'm quite happy to work with light powder, piling it up, and waiting until I can cut it with a saw. No need for packing, I let time and sun do it for me.
I hope the kids around here appreciate the packing snow we got overnight, because I sure don't.
